Tony Born in the holiday resort of Blackpool on Lancashire's coast in the summer of 1963, Tony began a career in the IT industry as a trainee with a major UK insurance company after returning to Lancashire in the mid-80s following university. During this time, Tony began to regularly attend motor racing events at Oulton Park, and later, Donnington Park, Croft and Silverstone with a particular interest in the British Touring Car Championship. From this interest grew a desire to photograph the cars he was watching and, after several unsuccessful attempts with a Konica Aiborg zoom compact, the early '90s saw him purchase a Canon EOS SLR.

Having purchased this equipment, Tony decided to learn how to use it properly and therefore attended a short photography course at Blackpool & Fylde College. After completing the course, and a brief flirtation with another camera club, Tony joined Poulton Photographic Society. As Tony attended meetings he began to find himself increasingly drawn towards Landscape photography. Living close to 3 of Britain's National Parks, He found himself increasingly spending his free time out in the countryside photographing landscapes rather than attending motor sports events.

1995 saw Tony leaving salaried employment to begin freelancing as an IT consultant and in late 1996 he was approached regarding the opportunity to spend a year working for a major multinational financial institution in Phoenix, Arizona. After moving to Phoenix in March 1997, the new challenges of photographing the landscape of the south west USA re-ignited Tony's passion for photography and, coupled with his Christian faith gave him a new desire to show people the wonder of God's Creation. During this time Tony was a member of Phoenix Camera Club and discovered many of Arizona's treasures thanks to the members there.

Returning to his native Lancashire in the spring of 1998, Tony started to see the UK's landscapes with a new vision, revisiting many of his favourite places in the north of England. However, with the dawn of a new Millennium, the freelance IT marketplace collapsed and Tony moved to Hampshire in the summer of 2000 returning to salaried employment with a major IT Corporation. Tony used this opportunity to explore the New Forest and South Downs together with the Dorset & Sussex coast and the hills of Wiltshire. During this time Tony was a member of Southampton Camera Club with some success in competitions there.

With redundancy, Tony took the opportunity to get out of IT, moved to Preston in his native Lancashire and became a Civil Servant whilst also joining Blackburn & District Camera Club. After some 15 years of 35mm film photography, Tony spent a year experimenting with digital capture and has now purchased a Canon EOS5D.
